WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival announces its 58th annual event, showcasing 93 films from more than 40 countries at theaters across Houston.

The festival will screen 34 feature films and 59 short films. All screened films are Remi Award winners, selected for their excellence in storytelling, production quality, and creative vision.
"Now more than ever, we need bold voices, local stories, and global perspectives," said a Houston local and long-time festival judge.
The 2025 festival includes several world premieres. Opening Night features "Long Shadows" with Dermot Mulroney and Jacqueline Bisset. Other premieres include "Pleasure, Bye"—a sci-fi story about Galveston street performers—and "If I Could Ride Again," a drama about horse therapy, both on April 27, and "Stitched" by Texas filmmaker Zach Goodwin on April 28. Closing Night presents "All There Is" starring Jason Priestley, Mena Suvari, and Elsie Fisher.
Festival Director Katy Lea Cannon states, "My father, Hunter Todd, always believed in a 'good story, well told.' That belief lives on in every frame of this festival."
The event also features educational opportunities through MasterClass seminars on topics like action filmmaking, character development, film lighting techniques, and career building. These sessions help new filmmakers learn essential skills from industry professionals.
The Awards Gala returns to River Oaks Theater on May 3. Additional events include a NASA Tour at Space Center Houston and a day on the bay at Houston Yacht Club on May 4.
